Your Tongue Has the Power to Bring Death or Life.

(This will be a two-part series. We will cover the thoughts part tomorrow.)

Foundation Scripture:

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. AMP

Those are some very powerful words, aren’t they?

We, as humans, have the power of life and death in our tongue, in our words. We can either choose to build someone up or bring them down. As Christians, we are called to speak lives into those around us, to be a walking and living example of Jesus, especially to lost souls. Regardless of how they act towards us, we are called to speak love, kindness, patience, gentleness.. The fruits of the Spirit.

You cannot control other people’s actions. You are only in control of yours.

It is better to praise others then to praise yourself.” – Unknown

I can’t remember where I heard that from but it stuck to me. Humility.

You’re probably wondering why I am bringing humility into this, along with the original topic, but it does play a good part in whether or not we choose to build someone up or not. Of course if you are filled with pride, you cannot build others up or speak life to others. You are too busy focused on SELF. That is a very destructive thing.

My point here is not to condemn anyone, but to speak life to the lost ones that do not know what they need to know.

Your tongue is very powerful, how you use it is up to you but it can either bring life or death and if you are a child of God, you are called to bring life, for God has given us life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Choose today to bring life and meaning and power to those all around you. I don’t care what little significance you think your words have.. Like say for instance “It is too cold or hot outside.” Even that can bring a chain reaction: Negative words bring on negative feelings and then negative feelings bring on negative thoughts and then it leads to destruction, no matter how small you may think it is.

Be careful my dear brothers and sisters and be mindful of what you allow in your space.

Blessings Y’all and come back for part 2 tomorrow! I’ll have a lot more to talk about and I’ll be adding more to this subject as well.
