She Reads Truth: Day 18: Praise.

Goodmorning everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful morning so far! As you are reading this, I am currently at church praising my heart out! haha, today’s topic. how convenient. πŸ˜‰ Today I’m going to be sharing my testimony with one of the ministers in our church so I ask that everyone who is reading this, that they pray that I have the courage. This is in preparation for me to share my FULL testimony to a full congregation, something I, myself, never thought of doing. But God? Shoot. He has bigger plans for me then I had for myself.

Second Topic: Praise.

Praising is the BEST way to show God your appreciation. Praise is done through the mouth, singing loving songs to Him, our Father, basically loving on Him and showing Him our appreciation for all that we do. Some people show praise by lifting up their hands, singing psalms and hymns, speaking in tongues and so forth. At the church I go to, they teach us that the best praise is when we are praising in Spirit and in Truth. Spirit being in tongues and in Truth being that we mean what we are saying wholeheartedly. I don’t know about y’all, but I love LOVE loving on my God! He is so awesome and amazing, how can we NOT praise Him? All that He has done for us. He chose, even before the world existed, that He would send His son to save the world. Save us all from eternal death. He chose YOU before the world even existed. Don’t you think He is worthy to be praised? I think so! Not only is all of that a way of praising Him, but also keeping your body pure is a way of praising Him as well. You’re basically telling Him that you are His and that you love Him by obeying Him. That, in itself, is praise.

One of the ministers at our church once said, and to this day it still rings in my ear every single day: “Once your praises equal the amounts of requests you pray for, THEN your prayers will be answered.” This is so true! I have seen it time and time again. You think He is blessing you now, wait until you start wholeheartedly, in Spirit and in Truth, start praising Him. As my pastor would say, He will bless your socks off! πŸ˜›

Question: What can you do today to up your praising? I challenge you today to spend at least a few minutes today praising God. He MORE then deserves it!

Scriptures: Psalm 134, Colossians 3:16

Psalm 134

A Song of Ascents.
Praising the Lord in His House at Night.

1: Behold, bless the Lord, All you servants of the Lord, Who by night stand in the house of the Lord!
2: Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the Lord.
3: The Lord who made heaven and earth Bless you from Zion!

1: The Levites kept the temple by night (1 Chronicles 9:33).
2: Uplifted hands are an integral part of both Jewish and Christian worship (1 Timothy 2:8).
3: The last of The Songs of Ascents fittingly closes with a benediction and blessing on the pilgrims who have traveled to Jerusalem for the feasts. The full form of blessing is found in Numbers 6:24-27.

Colossians 3:16

16: Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

16: see note on Ephesians 5:19.

From Truth-in-Action, Section 2:

16: Study, think about, memorize, believe, and live the Word of God so that it becomes part of who you are. Let the Word inhabit your conversation with others and your worship of God. Devote yourself to Jesus and to knowing God’s Word.

Devotional Content:

Before you feel like a Debbie Downer who can’t get her junk together, remember Colossians 3. We hear again about thankfulness and joy and singing — but you know what comes first? Letting His Word dwell in you richly. She Reads Truth. And then she lets it permeate every single part of her soul and dwell in her until it’s flavor is rich everywhere within her, like a dessert that you just cannot forget.

The Word “dwells” here is the Greek word Enoike_. It means to well in one and influence him. This should encourage us and spur us, ladies, to dig in and be influence by God’s Word. How else would we do life? How else would we praise? How else would we do community with one another? It all starts with letting truth at our hearts and letting it change us.

How is God’s Word affecting you today?

What must you be trying to do without first being unfluenced by His truth?

Hope you guys have a wonderful day/night! I will tell you how my day went at church with telling my testimony if you follow me on twitter!

Until then guys, have a wonderful and blessed day/night! Love you ALL!
