Faith: The Difference Between Faith & Hope.

14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the [a]Beginning of the creation of God, says this:

15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will [b]spit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’” (Revelation 3:14-22 NASB – Boldness and Italics added for emphasis.)

Verses to meditate on today: Romans 1:16, Hebrews 11:1, Mark 11:24, Romans 4:17-21, Hebrews 11:6, Romans 10:17, Romans 10:8-14, Acts 14:7-9, Romans 10:10, Mark 11:23, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Romans 2:28-29.

Faith. What exactly is faith? Hope. What exactly is hope?

Faith believes in the NOW and hope believes in the FUTURE! Know the difference between faith and hope! God moves when His precious children have FAITH, not HOPE!

We’ll first delve in to FAITH and then work on hope.

Let’s take a look at Hebrews 11:1 – “11 Now faith is the [a]assurance of things [b]hoped for, the [c]conviction of things not seen.” (NASB – Boldness and Italics added for emphasis.) . Faith is the assurance of things hoped for that are not seen currently. What we bound here on earth, we also bound in heaven and whatever we loose here on earth, we also loose in heaven! REGARDLESS of the circumstances all around us! When we ask God for something, we are to have FAITH that we have already received what we have asked for. It may not seem like you have what you ask for, but once you ask God for something, He is working for it in the spiritual world, you just have to let God manifest it in the physical world. While we are waiting, we are told to praise and thank God throughout everything, thank Him for giving us what we ask for and for fulfilling all of His promises in the Word! Do not allow your circumstances to dictate your moods towards God or whether you will praise and thank Him or not. FAITH IS ALWAYS PRESENT TENSE. Faith believes you have received what you asked for NOW. There is no need to ask God a second, third, forth, fifth, etc… times in order to receive something. If you asked God in faith and authority, you can have an assurance that you have ALREADY received what you have asked for. Regardless of what things look like RIGHT NOW. No matter how long it takes for you to receive WHAT YOU ASK FOR. God WILL test you, trust and believe, praise and thank Him continually.

NOW FAITH IS! IF IT IS NOT NOW, IT IS NOT FAITH!

When we ask for something, search His scriptures for what you are praying on and then step out in faith and believe God will do what you can NOT do. THAT is FAITH!

Faith believes you receive what you ask for NOW!

Hope points to the future; faith points to the now!

God has and always will be faithful and His Word has proven His promises to be true. We can have faith and confidence in that, that God will give us what we need and desire for. What we need. God’s Word will not return to Him void. If that were the case, what would be truth in this deceitful world? I can testify to every one that reads my blog that God has proven His Word to be true in MY life. I feel His presence within and around me. He gives me strength to go on when things look dark and gloomy. He speaks to me daily and to my heart constantly. He is alive and true and His Word remains true to this day and forevermore. BELIEVE IT! HAVE FAITH! You will get out of you circumstance RIGHT NOW! In Jesus Mighty and Holy Name! I pray over every single person reading this post right now! I plead the precious blood of Jesus over every fiber of your being and life! The chains are broken NOW that have been holding you back! Walk in faith and stand up NOW! You are chosen my wonderful sister in Christ! WHOAAAA!

Now, let’s move on to discerning between FAITH and HOPE.

I briefly touched on the HOPE subject when I explained what faith is above, but I think it is something that I should explain more deeply.

Let’s take a look at Mark 11:24 and Romans 4:17-21:

24 Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” (Mark 11:24 NASB – Boldness and Italics added for emphasis.)

17 (as it is written, “A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and [a]calls into being that which does not exist. 18 In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “So shall your [b]descendants be.” 19 Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.” (Romans 4:17-21 NASB – Boldness and Italics added for emphasis.)

Every Christian knows the story of Abraham and Sarah and how they waited SO LONG until their old age, to have a child (Abraham: 100 years old and Sarah 90 years old). It wasn’t until they were considered completely unable to have children that God decided to bless them with their son, Isaac. What an awesome God we serve! Glory to Him and to Him alone!

God does some things that we do not understand, but throughout our waiting and circumstances, like Abraham, we must not waver in our faith. We must have faith that God will not come back void on His Word. He will provide for His blessed children! Let’s take a look at Matthew 7:11:

11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” (NASB – Boldness and Italics added for emphasis.)

WOW! See here, God promises He will give good things to His children! It may not always be what you want, but it will be what you NEED. God knows your heart, He knows your wants, He knows your need and He knows your desires! Just because it seems as though nothing is moving along in your life right now and that nothing may be going right, trust and believe, God is going to work in the spiritual realm to manifest it in the physical realm! Rest in His perfect timing and will and continue praising and thanking Him throughout the waiting period!

23 Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.” (Mark 11:23 NASB – Boldness and Italics added for emphasis.)

^^^ That statement is HUGE! Instead of complaining to God about your circumstances, thank Him for giving you what you NEED! Talk and speak TRUTH to your mountain and it will be removed! Thank You, Jesus! In order to receive the healing or things you need, you must believe it wholeheartedly and receive it with every fiber of your being!

I’m going to quickly go over a couple of things before I end this blog post. I sincerely and wholeheartedly believe that someone will be healed and changed because of this blog post. But you must believe it and receive it in Jesus’ NAME!

  • Do not go by how you feel or what your circumstances say; believe and have faith in what God’s Word says. Sat it out loud! Don’t just believe it with your heart, speak it out loud!
  • Know the difference between faith and hope; faith believes you have it and receive it now regardless of your circumstances; hope is believing you will receive it in the future.
  • You cannot have belief if you don’t have knowledge of God’s Word. Know God’s Word and you will believe.
  • Only ask if it is “in God’s Will” if you don’t have a scripture to back up what you’re asking for. If it is in the Bible, it is already in God’s Will, so all you have to do is ask and have faith.
  • Talk like it is true out loud and believe it in your heart. That is what activates your faith.
  • A faith filled prayer is only asked ONCE and then you continually thank Him afterwards.
  • Remember: Faith is always NOW; hope is always FUTURE.

“6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6 NASB – Boldness and Italics added for emphasis.)
